For customers, the worldwide compatibility of technology that is achieved when products and services are based on standards International brings them an increasingly wider option of offerings, and they also benefit from the effects of competition among suppliers. For Governments, international standards provide the Foundation technological and scientific that they sustain health, security legislation and environmental. For developing countries, international standards constitutes an important source of technological know-how, by defining the characteristics expected of products and services to find on export markets, international standards gives a base for developing countries to make the right decisions to invest their scarce resources and thus avoid wasting them. For each one, international standards can contribute to the quality of life in general ensuring that transportation, machinery and instruments that we use is healthy and except. For the planet we inhabit, because there are international standards on air, water and soil quality, and on emissions of gases and radiation, can contribute to efforts to preserve the environment.
